Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Height AI collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the Height AI app and related services.
Summary
Height AI estimates height from photos selected by the user. To provide that feature, the selected photo is sent to our server and processed by OpenAI. The app also uses Firebase services for anonymous authentication, configuration, analytics, and optional result links.
Information We Collect
We collect or process the following information:
- Selected photos: photos you choose from your photo library for height estimation.
- Generated height estimates: the text result returned for the selected photo.
- Locale: your device locale, used to format the estimate in centimeters or feet and inches.
- Anonymous authentication data: Firebase Anonymous Auth creates an anonymous user identifier and authentication token used to authorize requests.
- Usage and diagnostics data: Firebase Analytics may collect basic app events, such as app opens and screen views, to understand app usage and reliability.
- Subscription information: Apple StoreKit handles purchases and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Optional result link data: if you choose to create or share a result link, the selected image, height estimate, generated title, timestamp, and source may be stored so the link can display the result.
How Photo Processing Works
When you choose to estimate height from a photo, the app converts the selected image into a JPEG upload and sends it to our Cloudflare-hosted backend. Our backend verifies the Firebase authentication token, sends the selected photo and locale to OpenAI for AI processing, receives a text height estimate, and returns that result to the app.
Height estimates are AI-generated and may vary based on photo angle, image quality, posture, distance, and visibility.
Face Data
Height AI does not collect, extract, store, or use face data. Photos selected by users may include a visible face, but the app does not use face detection, face recognition, facial landmarks, facial geometry, face templates, faceprints, biometric identifiers, or identity matching.
Selected photos are used only as full-image inputs for the height-estimation feature. They are not used to identify any person, authenticate users, track users, advertise to users, or build facial profiles.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide the height-estimation feature;
- format results for your locale;
- authenticate requests and prevent unauthorized use;
- manage free-use limits and subscription access;
- create result links only when that feature is used;
- maintain, debug, and improve the app.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI: processes selected photos and locale to generate a height estimate.
- Cloudflare: hosts the backend service that receives app requests and forwards photo-processing requests to OpenAI.
- Firebase / Google: provides anonymous authentication, analytics, remote configuration through Firestore, and optional result-link storage.
- Apple: provides photo selection, StoreKit subscriptions, and system sharing features.
No face data is separately shared with third parties because Height AI does not collect or create face data. Selected photos may be shared with OpenAI as full-image inputs for the height-estimation feature.
Storage and Retention
We do not retain face data because we do not collect or create face data.
Selected photos are processed to generate a height estimate. Our backend logs request metadata for operational debugging, but it is not designed to store selected photos as ordinary app history.
If you create or share a result link, the selected image and height estimate may be stored in Firebase so the result link can display the result. Result-link data may remain available until it is deleted by us or the service is discontinued.
OpenAI, Firebase, Google, Cloudflare, and Apple may process or retain data according to their own service terms, privacy policies, and data-processing practices.
Permissions and Consent
The app uses Apple photo picker controls so you choose which photos to provide. The app should only send a selected photo for height estimation after you choose a photo and agree to the processing disclosure shown in the app.
Children
Height AI is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the app to submit photos of a child unless you are the child's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to do so.
Your Choices
You can choose not to upload a photo. You can also avoid creating or sharing result links. To request deletion of result-link data or ask privacy questions, contact us at heightaiapp@gmail.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
